"Your hard work and dedication to the county is impressive. Thank you for taking on this leadership role in our community." Jeremy Giordano

Two generations of decentralized growth have drastically increased the Region’s urban land—by 60% in 30 years despite only a 13% increase in population while draining people and jobs out of the Region’s cities. This development pattern threatens both large areas of open land and critical environmental resources at the Region’s outer edge as well as the vitality of our cities and mature suburbs. - Regional Plan Association

"...the number one fiscal tool a municipality could implement to keep taxes down was to protect open space." - Robert McKeon, chair of the Red Hook Agriculture and Open Space Advisory Committee

Supervisor Arne Nordstrom
Town of Kent Town Hall
Sybil's Way
Kent Lakes, NY 10512

Monday, October 15, 2007

Dear Supervisor Nordstrom,

This is a request for all documents pertaining to the item(s) currently before the Town Board and known as the "Land Swap" or "Foursome Partners" or "Hockey Castle" or any other name which may have been used in the past, or in passing, concerning this issue. I am aware from public meetings and recordings of such meetings that this issue has been under discussion since, at the very least, some time in the spring of 2006.

Under FOIL (Public Officers Law Article 6 of the State of New York) I am requesting:

Electronic copies of all documents, maps and charts, letters, emails, records or other written and verbal correspondence, computer tapes and/or discs, drawings, forms, papers, designs, statements, memoranda, legal and non-legal opinions, phone records, meeting dates and times, meeting attendance, electronic recordings (other than public meetings), all invoices, RFP's (Request For Proposals), images, photographs, engineering reports and documents, SEQRA documents, DEC and DEP documents, State and/or local police documents and investigations, Planning board and Zoning board documents.

This request includes all of the above as it pertains to the following departments: The Supervisor's Office, the Town Board, The Town of Kent Police, Town of Kent Recreation, the Town of Kent Zoning Board, the Town of Kent Planning Board and, the Town Attorney.

For those documents that cannot - under current law - be sent to me electronically via email, please arrange for me to view these documents at the Town's offices. I will decide which I may desire physical copies of and arrange for such with your staff at that time.

Sincerely,

Jeff Green
