As a former employee benefits manager for large corporations (Citibank and MetLife, among others), I felt I had to comment on the notion that an “Obama-esque” federal government-sponsored health-care plan would create a system of bureaucrats who will decide what healthcare you can and cannot have.

This is exactly what is happening now. Your insurance company makes decisions every single day about what treatments you can and cannot have, and your employer, if you have what is called a “self-insured” plan at your company, absolutely makes these decisions for you.
