Troubles in New Square raise many questions, but politicians are keeping mum
This article was first posted at Left of the Hudson: Progressive News and Views for Rockland County by Cliff Weathers.
This video is from the News12 report on the two recent protests in New Square. The protests stemmed from local Hasids protesting allegedly harsh and illegal treatment they receive from the community leaders. Evidently, there seems to be some election laws broken in Rockland County’s recent election. But what’s really a shame is that between the chicken slaughterhouse debacle, the East Ramapo School Board shenanigans, and the accusations by members of the Hasidic community that they’re being forced to vote for particular political candidates, there has been no response from the Town Supervisor, The County Executive, or The Board of Elections.
What does that tell you?
