Belleayre project alive and well
Gitter
KINGSTON – Belleayre Resort developer Dean Gitter told Ulster County Chamber of Commerce members Thursday that his hotel, resort project is progressing forward.
“The Belleayre Resort project is alive and kicking and moving nicely along towards its reality,” Gitter told the audience in Kington. According to Gitter, when completed, the resort will consist of a hotel with 250 units and conference facilities for 500 people as well as a golf course surrounded by 55 detached lodging units and a village all of its own made up of 84 time shared town houses.
“It’s a family style four star hotel with an emphasis on wilderness activities and expeditions to tourism venues all over the Catskills and the Hudson Valley,” said Gitter.
The main focus of the project is developing a resort that will act as a model of environmental responsibility to the rest of the nation, he said. “We will have an ongoing resonance with our environmental partners, whatever new green technologies are developed, before we actually stick a spade in the ground, we will try to incorporate into the project.”
