The people who would be running the nation after the 2010 national elections and represented by some who will be demonstrating at the courthouse in Carmel on April 15th, are all up in arms about HR4530 which, if passed, would ban discriminatory practices against GLBT students. They put it like this:
Forget reading, writing and arithmatic, [sic] Democrats have more important subjects in mind for your child. Democrats are working to push HR 4530 through Congress. This bill will force educators to prohibit harassment, violence and discrimination faced by students based on their sexual orientation. That doesn’t sound so bad, but that’s not all it does.
[Ed note: notice the the way it's put: "... will force educators to..." which makes the assumption that there are public school teachers in our employ who encourage discrimination and that is acceptable to the writers.]
The bill will also allows [sic] educators and education officials like Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings to push their radical agenda in the classroom. And, if you don’t like the new policies or object to the program, the bill authorizes the federal government to cut off the educational assistance to schools that fail to enforce the new rules. Critics of the bill understand the law would give the controversial Safe Schools Czar, Kevin Jennings, almost unlimited authority to mandate sexual indoctrination in public schools at taxpayer expense. It won’t matter what your child is taught at home, this bill will allow radical educators to push their agenda in public schools despite your possible concerns.
Well, I’ve read the bill and to tell you the truth, I have no clue what they’re talking about.
If these are the voices that will be leading the nation in a few months time, I’d be afraid. If they’re going to be making up spurious lies about something as innocuous as this bill, what else are they willing to say?

This bill *is* innocuous and I’d rather you point out the pitfalls you see since I don’t see any.
“With enlightenment that is being taught why should this bill be necessary?”
For the same reason we have the 15th Amendment.
The bill appears innocuous but progressives believe in taking little steps. Read the bill in its enterity and you will see the pitfalls. Our attitude of the last 80 years has been if it doesn’t overtly harm ME why not let it happen. With enlightenment that is being taught why should this bill be necessary?
