NY State Senator Greg Ball has resigned his seat in order to, as he said, “Put my best efforts towards representing the people of this district in the Congress of the United States.” Addressing a hastily organized press conference just outside the Senate chambers, Mr. Ball said that while his election to the Senate was the defining moment of his life, he felt that he could do a better job for his constituents in Washington and not in Albany and challenged Nan Hayworth on her loyalty to the Republican party and its ideals.
