An old trash midden reveals the history of our region. Old coffee percolators, many brown glass "Dazzle" bleach bottles, clear Borden's 1 qt bottles, a vinegar bottle from Wayne County Produce (Greenpoint, NY) and a 'sample' red tin from the Mavis Talcum company date this midden to the 1930's.
The region's hemlock forests are abundant with life
Sensitive wetlands make up an important part of DEP's Richardsville Unit
The wetlands of this unit feed the Boyd's Corners Reservoir
'nuff said!

"Certainly, one option should always be, what happens if we just let it alone and let it resort to its fully natural state? A forest left alone and allowed over time to become something approximating what was here before settlement is the best of all possible worlds." - Bob Irwin, Conservation Director, World Wildlife Fund
